At Wimbledon Psychology, I offer a range of psychological therapies tailored to meet your needs. The various approaches I offer are grounded in evidence-based techniques, each designed to address specific concerns in a way that best suits your needs. Below, you'll find information on the individual and couples therapies I offer. Click on any of the links to learn more about each approach:
Individual Therapies:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): CBT is a structured, short-term therapy that helps individuals identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours, making it especially effective for issues like anxiety, depression and sleep issues.
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT): CFT uses the evolutionary model to understand that our 'tricky brains' are wired for threat and focuses on reduces our sense of threat and restoring balance through compassion training to help individuals overcome self-criticism, shame, and emotional distress, fostering self-compassion and emotional resilience.
Couples Therapies:
Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT): Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) to help couples move past cycles of conflict or distance by addressing the emotions and attachment needs beneath. This approach fosters more open expression, deeper listening, and the rebuilding of trust, intimacy, and teamwork.
Each therapy model provides tools and strategies to help you navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, understanding, and resilience. For individual therapy, I tend to explore your difficulties and experiences during the assessment phase, make sense of these and then choose the most appropriate therapy model. I also think it's important to offer clients choices and adapt therapy to your needs, wishes and cultural context. Together, we can explore the best approach to achieve your therapy goals.
